Evil always seems a giant
towering over man
intimidating ne’er the less
one needs to take a stand

imagine how king David felt
facing his enemy
with grit determination set
opposed to what may be
____
that could have been utter defeat
found weak because of fear
triumphed over by some giant
if faith in God weren’t there
____
but David knew the Lord that well
that God would be with Him
fearing not for his salvation
giving strength with which to win
____
thereby putting trust in the Lord
having the shield of faith
quenches all the fiery darts
of the wicked who hate
____
reducing these giants to nothing
God’s army shall put down
evil forces that use all fear
to capture holy ground
____
so bear one another’s burdens
praying to get one through
building faith upon God’s scripture
like David had to do
